Welcome to L'Armoire du Haut

L’Armoire du Haut is my dream come true.  It's a cooking school that brings together my favorite things:  Friends, great food, and a passion to share knowledge and ideas about healthy cooking.  My mission is to show people how easy and fun it is to make food that not only good for you, but delicious as well.  If we explore and have fun with our food we stimulate our culinary creativity and improve our physical and mental health!

'L’Armoire du Haut'  means 'the top shelf'.  It's that place in every kitchen filled with all the stuff we forget to use.  In this book you’ll explore new and tasty recipe possibilities using many interesting ingredients.  i've sprinkled in some nutrition information and healthy cooking tips as well, but the overall goal of this book is to inspire you to broaden your horizons and create amazing wholesome food right in your own kitchen.  What could be better than that?

How was L’Armoire du Haut born ?

After studying dietetics at college I worked in many facets of the food industry over the years.  A job as a meal planner in a hospital was the trigger for me to start my own cooking school.  I decided that instead of telling people what they can and cannot eat, I'd encourage healthy eating and focus on positive meal choices that are beneficial to everyone.  Convinced that a “hands on” approach is the best way to spread this message, I founded L’Armoire du Haut in 2009.

Who is behind L'Armoire du Haut?

My name is Dominique Dupuis.  I'm passionate about nutrition, people, and travel.  I've traveled the world to discover new tastes and ways to eat whole food.  I teach healthy cooking in Montreal at the Hochelaga Community Center and my own cooking school — L’Armoire du Haut.  We offer a wide variety of classes where you'll discover innovative cooking that is tasty, colorful, and above all, healthy!  I enjoy working with people and hope to see you at L'Armoire du Haut soon!
